Let The Joekster Begin!

Rush Limbaugh Stirs the Pot!

DCCC Executive Director Brian Wolff, blogging on the DCCC Web site, said Limbaugh has given Democrats "a preview of the outrageous Republican attacks that are on the way against President Obama and every Democrat working for change."According to Wolff, "Limbaugh's cheap shot at President Obama might be the first by the Republican attack machine this year but we know that it won't be the last.
We need every grassroots Democrat to show Rush Limbaugh and all of the Republicans what they're up against if they start attacking President Obama and Democrats who are working to end the failed GOP policies of the last eight years."Tell Rush what you think of his attacks on President Obama. We'll send him your comments," Wolff wrote. “Creating real change requires every American stand strong against Rush Limbaugh's attacks -- and all of the other partisan attacks from desperate Republicans that are on the way.
Let's start right here and now.”As CNSNews.com has reported, some Democrats are talking about reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, a federal regulation that required equal time for the expression of different political views on the public airwaves.

Liberal Talk Radio's Ethically Challenged Ed Schultz!

Ed Schultz "The Voice of the Left!"
Schultz comments on on the Norm Coleman, Al Franken race with a callers great question.

He was "betwixed" after a caller put him on the spot.
Schultz was commenting on incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman's legal challenge re: questionable results of a recount that reversed his initial narrow victory and put Democratic challenger Al Franken, formerly of Air America Radio and "Saturday Night Live," barely ahead (click here for audio) --

SCHULTZ: A three-judge panel in Minnesota, US Senate election dispute, will allow electronic media coverage of the trial (laughs) Judges are hearing the first arguments tomorrow, excuse me, today when lawyers for Al Franken seek dismissal of the election challenge filed by Norm Coleman. They say, Norm, you don't have any material. What the hell you talking about? We've had the most open recount in the history of an American elections (sic) and he's still whining about it.

Stan in Minneapolis, you're on The Ed Schultz Show. Good to have you with us.

CALLER: Yeah, well being from Minneapolis area, I can comment on Norm Coleman's trial and in a lot of precincts there were actually more votes (inaudible) than were registered voters, Ed.

SCHULTZ: Say that again. There was somebody calling in on you. Say that again please.

CALLER: There were more votes cast that there were registered voters in Minnesota.

SCHULTZ: Well why didn't they find that out in the recount?

CALLER: They did. They know that.

SCHULTZ: OK, so Al is still in front.

What, you got a problem with voting fraud?

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but it appears from Schultz's initial reaction to the caller -- "Well why didn't they find that out in the recount?" -- that he considers more votes cast than actual voters voting potentially troubling. All of a sentence later, and armed in the interim with an awareness this could be true, Schultz doesn't see it as a problem in the least. And what a coincidence, the candidate Schultz wants to win is the one on top.

Picture, if you will, Schultz as a lawyer defending an accused bank robber. The prosecutor points out that the defendant has much more money than he's ever earned and can't account for where it came from. Schultz's retort -- OK, so he's still wealthy.

Babies are a burden on the Economy? The House Clown!

Nancy Pelosi, the mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who once said, "Nothing in my life will ever, ever compare to being a mom," seemed to imply babies are somehow a burden on the treasury.

The Question:

Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus? PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost.

The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

Obama Is Like Biblical Joshua, Boxing Promoter Don King Says
Wednesday, January 21, 2009
By Josiah Ryan, Staff Writer

President Barack Obama (CNSNews.com/Josiah Ryan)(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama is similar to the Biblical character of Joshua and Martin Luther King Jr. was like Moses, boxing promoter Don King told CNSNews.com on Tuesday.

Celebrities, including Jay-Z, Smokey Robinson, Don King, Denzel Washington, and Oprah Winfrey, spoke with CNSNews.com in the hours before the inauguration just a few feet from the rostrum where Obama was sworn-in as the nation’s 44th president. They spoke about how Obama had changed their lives and which Biblical character they think he most resembles.

Actor Denzel Washington“I would say that he would be Joshua going across to the Promised Land,” King told CNSNews.com. “Martin Luther King Jr. went to the mountaintop like Moses, and he said, ‘I might not get there with you, but I can see the Promised Land.’ But we gonna’ get to the Promised Land. So Joshua carried them across. Martin Luther King, Jr. was prevented from going into the Promised Land.”

“There are so many Biblical figures who had the same task,” popular R&B singer and songwriter Smokey Robinson told CNSNews.com. “I really don’t know. I just think he is himself and he will go down in world history – not Biblical history – as a world leader who brought people together. Look around you. The world is here.”

“I would say any one of the Biblical leaders,” said Denzel Washington’s mother, Lennis Washington, who was attending the inauguration with her son on Tuesday. “The apostle Paul, Moses, John the Baptist – any one of them. Seriously, he is like one of those apostles for our day. He came to lead us to the original design of what we are supposed to do on this earth.”

Entertainment mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, singer Solange Knowles, and hip-hop artist Jay-Z (CNSNews.com/Josiah Ryan)Denzel Washington, however, was reluctant to draw a parallel between Obama and a Biblical character.

“What Biblical character?” Washington said. “As Mr. Obama has said, it’s not about him. It’s about us. It’s about what we do collectively.”

Other celebrities present at the ceremony shared thoughts with CNSNews.com on how Obama had specifically changed their lives.

“Obama changed my life in the same way he has changed your life,” hip-hop artist Jay-Z told CNSNews.com.

“He has changed my life just like he has changed your life,” agreed Robinson. “If you are an American citizen, he has changed all of our lives. America has changed our lives.

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey and editor-at-large for O Magazine, Gayle King (l-r)“We are at last showing the world that we are who we say we are,” said Robinson, when asked to be more specific. “It’s truly a wonderful day for the world.”

“He makes me want to be a better human being,” said media mogul and talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

Only King told CNSNews.com that Obama had not changed his life.

“No,” said King. “America changed my life. Barack Obama is just a part of the American scene, and what this means to me is that America is looking colorblind. They are no longer suffering from myopia. What we are talking about here is much more profound than just a guy who happens to be American and happens to be black.”

What Recession?

The country is in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, which isn't stopping rich donors and the government from spending $170 million, or more, on the inauguration of Barack Obama .
ABC News Bylline
Employees at banks, brokerages and Wall Street firms donated $7 million Barack Obama's inauguration.
(ABC News Photo Illustration)The actual swearing-in ceremony will cost $1.24 million, according to Carole Florman, spokeswoman for the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

It's the security, parties and countless Porta-a-Potty rentals that really run up the bill.

Chief 'Two Eagles' know How!

Indian Chief, 'Two Eagles', was asked by a white government official, 'You have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his technological advances. You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done.'

The Chief nodded in agreement.

The official continued, 'Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?'

The Chief stared at the government official for over a minute and then calmly replied. 'When white man find land, Indians running it. No taxes, No debt, Plenty buffalo, Plenty beaver, Clean Water; Women did all the work, Medicine Man free.. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; All night having sex.'

Then the chief leaned back and smiled. 'Only white man dumb enough to think he can improve system like that.'

Clown Conyers "Come on Down!"

Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said his staff has met with the Obama transition officials on the report to call members of the Bush Administration up on criminal charges. The object of Conyers affection is to create an impeachment atmosphere in Congress that eventually brings Bush Administraton Officials before his committee and embarrass them. Conyers is the "laughing stock" of the House. Here is the leader of the "Bugs Barney," "Rep. Freezer Burns," Sen Chris "The Sandwich" Dodd, and a host of other elected Democratic officials that have embarrassed the U.S. with their illegal and unethical behavior. These characters have cost Amercian taxpayers billions and this poor excuse for an elected official wants to kick off the Obama years with his vindictive demeaner. What's next? Mules and 40 Acres?
