Rasmussen Poll December 26, 2009
Most voters (55%) oppose the health care legislation working its way through Congress. Those who feel strongly about the legislation are overwhelmingly opposed to it. Most voters favor a ban on coverage of abortion in any insurance plan subsidized by the federal government. Most voters (54%) also believe they personally will be worse off if the health care plan passes. Just 25% think they will be better off. A commentary by Michael Barone notes that it been more than 150 years since such significant but unpopular legislation was passed through Congress on a partisan basis.
Twenty-nine percent (29%) say the economy is getting better while 47% say it’s getting worse. Just 29% say the United States is heading in the right direction. Republicans have opened their largest advantage yet on the Generic Congressional Ballot.
It is important to remember that the Rasmussen Reports job approval ratings are based upon a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults. President Obama's numbers are always several points higher in a poll of adults rather than likely voters. That's because some of the President's most enthusiastic supporters, such as young adults, are less likely to turn out to vote. It is also important to check the details of question wording when comparing approval ratings from different firms.

The Beginning of The End!
Rod Blagojevich's lawyers want the FBI to give up details of interviews conducted last year of President Obama, his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, White House adviser Valerie Jarrett and others as part of the investigation into the former governor.
In a Friday filing, Blagojevich attorneys also asked for information regarding first lady Michelle Obama. However, a source said late Friday that the FBI never interviewed the first lady.

MY DADDY IS AN EXOTIC DANCER!
One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up -- fireman,
mechanic, businessman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, and so forth.
However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when
the teacher prodded him about his father, he finally replied,
'Okay... my father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off
all his clothes in front of other men and they put money in his
underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home
with some guy and stay with him all night for money.'
The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the
other children to work on some exercises and then took little
Justin aside to ask him, 'Is that really true about your father?' 'No', the boy said, 'He actually works for the Democratic National Committee and helped get Barack Obama elected President last year, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the class.'

Dems Vote to Allow Federal Funding for Corrupt ACORN by Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)
Dems Vote to Allow Federal Funding for Corrupt ACORNby Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)
Months later, with the country’s focus on jobs, healthcare, and the Global War on Terror, Democrats are moving to restore funding to ACORN. Last night, Rep. Tom Latham (R-IA) offered an amendment during deliberations on the Democrats’ massive year-end appropriations bill to clarify the prohibition on federal funds going to ACORN or its subsidiaries. That amendment was shot down on a 5-9 party line vote as Republicans sided with taxpayers while Democrats stood with ACORN.
Rep. Latham’s amendment is necessary to prevent taxpayer money from going to ACORN because the Obama Administration’s Department of Justice has taken advantage of a legal loophole to allow ACORN to continue to receive federal funds – despite the passage of the House GOP’s Defund ACORN Act in the fall.
The American people and the Congress have spoken loud and clear: ACORN should be denied any taxpayer funds. Period.
ACORN has already received far too much money from the American people. An analysis of federal data by the Office of the Republican Leader staff determined that ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct funding from the federal government since 1994, and has likely received substantially more indirectly through states and localities that receive federal block grants.
Enough is enough. The American people are tired of seeing their tax dollars wasted on an organization accused of serious crimes – and that’s why House Republicans are stepping up efforts to defund ACORN once and for all.
Last night, defying the will of a bipartisan majority ofthe House and Senate, Democrats voted to allowthe Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) to receive federal taxpayer dollars.
In September, large Congressional majorities in both houses voted to sever all ties between the federal government and ACORN. The Senate vote was 85-11; the House vote was 345-75. You’d think that those votes, which USA Today described as prohibiting “any federal funding for the community organizing group,” would have settled the matter. You’d be wrong.Months later, with the country’s focus on jobs, healthcare, and the Global War on Terror, Democrats are moving to restore funding to ACORN. Last night, Rep. Just "Don't Do It!"
"I feel really sorry for Elin ... since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him. We probably thought he was a better guy then he is.''
- Jesper Parnevik Before Woods married the Swedish bikini model in October 2004, Elin Nordegren and her twin sister Josefin worked as au pairs for Jasper and Mia Parnevik.
They introduced the pair, something Parnevik now sounds like he regrets.
"I would be especially sad about it since I'm kind of -- I feel really sorry for Elin -- since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him," Parnevik said. "We probably thought he was a better guy than he is. I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of the 3-iron."
Parnevik said he has had no contact with Woods since rumors and speculation began to circulate.
"It's a private thing of course," he said. "But when you are the guy he is, the world's best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff."

Are You An Obama Fan?
A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many of them were Obama fans. Not really knowing what an Obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.
The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different... again.
Little Johnny said, "Because I'm not an Obama fan." The teacher asked, "Why aren't you a fan of Obama?" Johnny said, "Because I'm a Republican."
The teacher asked him why he's a Republican.
Little Johnny answered,
"Well, my Mom's a Republican and my Dad's a Republican, so I'm a Republican."
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, "If your mom were a moron and your dad were an idiot, what would that make you?"
With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, "That would make me an Obama fan."

Is this the "Change" folks voted for?
Businessman by Peter Schweizer
http://biggovernment.com/2009/10/24/obama-vs-the-american-businessman/#more-18950Okay, it’s time to finally admit it: Barack Obama hates businessmen. Not just certain businessmen, mind you, but the entire profession.
Of course President Obama will deny this. He told Businessweek magazine in a recent interview that he is not anti-business and that he believes in the private sector. But the evidence is overwhelming, and it helps explain why he is pursuing kamakazi-like economic policies that will damage the private sector in America.

Dick Morris Poll Indicates Most Young People Don't Know that Obama Care means...
The poll asked young people if the knew the following.....The health care bill, pushed by President Obama and the Democrats, would require everyone to buy health insurance or pay a fine for failing to do so.
People could keep their current insurance if their employer provided it and agreed to continue it. Insurance companies would be required to insure all applicants regardless of pre-existing conditions.
People would be offered subsidies to buy insurance if their household incomes were below $70,000 a year and if their insurance cost more than 8% of their incomes ($5600 for a $70,000 a year family).
The program will cost one trillion over ten years. Also a $1000 fine each year will be levied in the event you do not sign up for a health care plan! (Which means why not pay the $1000 fine , rather than subscribe to a long term policy when the government will pick up the tab if you either have a preexisting condition or other health care problem) Who needs insurance if it only costs $1000 fine each year. So who pays the difference?

Consevatives and Liberals
Conservatives and Liberals...
Lot of truth here !
If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn`t buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.
If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

Orange County Register
Editorial: The elite world of public employees
Unparalleled perks, benefits and salaries sink our nation deeper into its fiscal hole
It is hard to make a case for going to work in the private sector anymore because government employees just have it better. Even now, when the private sector is facing major cutbacks and layoffs, government, at the state and federal levels, still offer unparalleled perks, benefits, and salaries – even in the face of seemingly insurmountable budget deficits. There is something terribly wrong with this picture.
It used to be the case that people went to work in public service sacrificing higher wages for more job security and better benefits. Today, government employees get paid more, are offered better fringe benefits, retire with larger pensions, have rock-solid job security, and are provided more days off than their counterparts in private industry. With a deal like that why would anyone want to work in the real world?

Finally a President w/cashews...Mexican President Felipe Calderon
Mexico Knocks A Union's Lights Out
Latin America: The Mexican president shut down a money-losing state-owned electrical utility, taking a labor union down with it. The union is howling, but the shutdown is one of the best things to happen to Mexico.
For months, the SME union had been trying to intimidate Felipe Calderon into continuing to subsidize the Luz y Fuerza del Centro electrical distributor, even as its $16 billion in revenue didn't come close to its $32 billion in salaries and pension costs.
And why not? The union had done the same thing to all the other reform-minded Mexican presidents and saw all of them back off.
But it didn't have a clue about Calderon, a former energy minister who on Sept. 24 warned the union to cut costs or else. The union ignored the warning and tried to intimidate Calderon with political tactics, whipping up fear that he intended to privatize the utility. Calderon had a better idea: shut down the utility.
The stunning decision to disband the company and lay off 44,000 workers effectively ends the SME union. It was the strongest act to support the future of a country since British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher took on the National Union of Mineworkers.
In 1984, she vowed to shut unprofitable mines and directly confronted the wrath of feared union boss Arthur Scargill. She held firm, opening the gate to Britain's resurgence as a globally competitive nation. The same will happen for Mexico.
It took just hours for Mexico's peso to rise on news that a huge financial burden had been lifted from the government. Luz y Fuerza del Centro was a money pit that cost the government $42 billion a year in subsidies. Analysts said the shutdown would save $25 billion — enough to enable the government to scrap a planned 2% tax hike.
The improved fiscal picture will keep interest rates in place and avert a ratings downgrade. All of this increases Mexican purchasing power, helps the government finance itself and releases money for lending and investment in a new economy.
The shutdown began in the dead of Sunday night when Calderon sent in troops to head off union sabotage and put the utility under the control of Comision Federal de Electricidad, a company that uses many private contractors to distribute electricity. The commission will be a sight better than Luz y Fuerza del Centro, which lost a third of the electricity it produced and had costs 176% higher than CFE's. LyFC's losses forced ordinary Mexicans to pay for the waste through above-market rates. Bloated payrolls, inherited jobs and massive pension benefits (a retiree gets three times the salary of a worker) explain why this company required subsidies equal to the entire budget of the Mexican army

AARP's Left Turn Signal
The world according to AARP
The AARP, the nation's largest lobbying group serving older Americans, is facing a backlash from members who are opposed to President Obama's plans to reform health care by cutting Medicare.
The group has not officially endorsed a health care plan, but is working closely with the administration and Congress to develop one, and that has stirred anger among some of its 40 million members who view the alliance as somewhat of a betrayal.
Tens of thousands have left the AARP and gravitated to the American Seniors Association, which describes itself as a center-right group that is opposed to Obama's plan.
"The AARP has really just moved to the left in recent years and wherever there is a vacuum, something will fill it and in this case it is the American Seniors Association," said Phil Kent, spokesman for the new group.

A Man With Conviction!
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..
Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.''If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Obama Care May Be On The Way! Hold onto your Wallets!
OBAMA'S HEALTH INSURANCE TAX: COMING SOON TO ALL POLICIES
By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN
Published on DickMorris.com on September 25, 2009
The Baucus healthcare bill provides for a tax on "gold-plated" health insurance policies. But, as with the Alternative Minimum Tax, once slated to be imposed only on the wealthy, inflation will make most Americans liable to pay the 40 percent tax in a few years.
The tax applies to all individual policies with premiums above $8,750 and families of four whose premiums exceed $23,000. But the Congressional Budget Office estimates that the average health insurance premium for families of four will reach $25,000 by 2018. The average premium should pass the thresholds in Baucus's bill by 2016.
So, a few years after the bill takes effect in 2013, the health insurance premium tax will become virtually universal. And this tax is to be a 40 percent levy. So, in six years, the average family health insurance policy, now projected to cost $25,000, will, in fact, cost $35,000 due to the Obama-Baucus tax!
The Baucus bill tax threshold is, of course, not indexed for medical inflation or even for regular inflation. (Premiums have been rising at 10 percent for a decade and the average family premium now is 109 percent higher than it was 10 years ago.)
Will Congress act, in the future, to index the health insurance premium tax so it does not reach down to the average American's policies? Not very likely. As costs rise under ObamaCare (as they have in Massachusetts, where they have more than doubled in two years), the pressure for increased revenue will dictate that Congress let the tax grow and expand its reach until it is a universal tax that pays for universal care.
Until now, the Obama plan has not meant much for the average American who now has insurance. While scarcity of doctors and medical care is a likely result, the harm was largely confined to the elderly, who will bear the brunt of the rationing. But now, the Baucus bill shows that the real story is quite different. In a few years' time, most families will find their health insurance premiums 40 percent higher because of the new tax. Far from cutting the cost of health insurance, the bill will send it through the roof!
To fight this bill, please go to https://www.newsmaxstore.com/contribute/lav/ to donate funds to run ads in key swing states (like Maine) to stop this iniquitous piece of legislation.

Sorry, I can't make it....
Attorney and “main organizer” of “Islam on Capitol Hill”, Hassen Ibn Abdellah is President of the Elizabeth, New Jersey Dar ul-Islam, Inc. Abdellah was, described October 25, 1993 by the New York Times, as the “most aggressively combative of the lawyers” representing the terrorists who staged the 1993 World Trade Center attacks. His client, the Egyptian-born Mahmud Abouhalima, was convicted of helping to manufacture and transport the bomb detonated in the 1993 attack and is now incarcerated in the Federal “Supermax” prison at Florence, Colorado.
In 2004 Abdellah represented Numan Maflahi, a New Jersey Muslim tied to al-Qaeda fundraising. The New York Times July 10, 2004 reported:
Prosecutors said Mr. Maflahi, a gas station owner who lives in Little Ferry, N.J., had been the driver and personal assistant for Sheik Abdullah Satar, a former member of parliament in Yemen. They have described Sheik Satar as a fund-raiser with ties to Al Qaeda.
Yesterday, Mr. Maflahi’s lawyer, Hassen Ibn Abdellah, told Judge Nina Gershon of Federal District Court in Brooklyn that her sentencing decision was a test of whether “this country could be fair to Arab-Americans.”
Five years later, why does the “aggressively combative” Abdellah think his “Time Has Come”? The August 31 Newark Star-Ledger explains: “It was President Obama’s words at his inauguration in January, and then his speech in Egypt in June, that led Abdellah and an area imam, Abdul Malik, to begin discussing the idea….”

Readers respond to LA Times Puff Piece RE: ACORN
If Congress and the President think it is up to them to clean house for Health Care and the Auto Industry, why do you now call on ACORN to clean itself? Which face are we to believe is the right way?
Balou8900 (09/16/2009, 11:11 AM )
Once again, the Liberal Area Times has shown its true colors. The Times finds Mr. O'Keefe's methods "distasteful". However, the Times seems to have no qualm with the felonys committed on the taxpayer dime. You mention Acorn performs worthwhile work in poor communities and registers voters. Tell us again, how many states are they under indictment for voter fraud, 10,12, more? It would appear Mr O'Keefe and Ms Giles scouped your staff on a story and will probably win a Pulitizer before you guys do.
Why in the world do you find that, "O'Keefe's hidden-camera methods are distasteful..."? Is the use of "hidden camera methods" so distasteful. Why Mike Wallace was using them long before 60 MinutesSurely The Times will acknowledge that this publicly funded organization has been engaged in unscrupulous tactics. And that these tactics are a legitimate focus of investigation by the press. The press has a unique role in American society; a role that is to protect the people from corrupting influences on public life.
The question is why the press has ignored ACORN and given it a free pass? If the press had been fulfilling its responsibility to the people, and had the press been doing its job, there would be no need for someone else to do it for them!

Clunker Money is Taxable!
Those cashing in on the clunkers program are surprised when they get to the treasurer's office windows. That's because the government's rebate of up to $4500 dollars for every clunker is taxable. Another Nancy Pelosi Government Run Program!

What would a "Death Panel" say?
President Obama's Quit Smoking Journal
December 24, 2005 - Freshman Senator Obama says he's trying to quit smoking for his daughters. "The flesh is weak." "It's an ongoing battle. I have my gum, my patches and all that stuff."
November 18, 2006 - Question about smoking: "I'm struggling with those. I've quit before. It's one of those habits that creep up when you're stressed and you have to shake it off. It's not something I'm proud of."
February 6, 2007 - I've never been a heavy smoker," no more than 10 a day. "I've quit periodically over the last several years. I've got an ironclad demand from my wife that in the stresses of the campaign I don't succumb. I've been chewing Nicorette strenuously." "Actually Nicorette works pretty well."
February 11, 2007 - Michelle Obama: "I hate it." "That's why he doesn't do it anymore. I'm proud to say. I outed him -- I'm the one who outed him on the smoking. That was one of my prerequisites for, you know, entering this race, is that, you know, he couldn't be a smoking president."
March 15, 2007 - Question: "How's quitting smoking going?" Obama: "Nicorette is going justfine."
August 2007 - Reporter claims Senator Obama reeked of cigarette smoke smell during an interview.
September 11, 2007 - Video clip of Senator Obama chewing nicotine gum before a Senate Committee meeting
February 28, 2008 - Senator Obama asserts success in quitting smoking, a dealbreaker with Michelle. I had been sneaking 3 to 4 cigarettes a day but I've been chewing on Nicorette which tastes like chewing on ground pepper, "but it does help."
April 2, 2008 - Motivation to quit: "After your wife saying on 60 Minutes that if you seeBarak with a cigarette let me know." "I fell off the wagon a couple of times during the course of it and then was able to get back on." "It's a struggle like everything else. And I think that it's important to just keep in mind I have a nine-year-old daughter and a six-year-old daughter and I want to give them away in their weddings and I want to see my grand-kids and I want to set a good example for all these young people here and I want to make sure that as President of the United States I'm going to try to stay healthy ..." In advising smokers: "You guys need to get it straight. You guys need to get on the case" (see minute 31:10 of clip).
May 29, 2008 - Obama's physician releases a health statement which mentions smoking and asserts: he "has quit this practice on several occasions and is currently using Nicorette gum with success."
July 25, 2008 - Video clip of Senator Obama throwing Nicorette gum to a supporter whoasked if he still smokes: "I do not." [How did you quit?] "Nicorette, you what one? Here, try one out. Now that's 2 milligrams because I only had like 3 or 4 a day but - 3 or 4 cigarettes a day when I was smoking - but if you're a heavier smoker you may need the 4 milligrams. It's not bad, though. It works well."
October 2008 - "There wasn't some dramatic moment [when I quit]." "Michelle had been putting pressure on me for a while. I was never really a heavy smoker. Probably at my peak I was smoking seven or eight a day. More typical was three. So it wasn't a huge challenge with huge withdrawal symptoms. There have been a couple of times during the campaign when I fell off the wagon and bummed one, and I had to kick it again. But I figure, seeing as I'm running for president, I need to cut myself a little slack."
December 7, 2008 - President-Elect Obama declares that "I have" quit smoking" butacknowledges that "there are times where I have fallen off the wagon" "You will not see any violations" of the White House no smoking zone policy.
February 2, 2009 - Question: Have you had a cigarette since you been to the WhiteHouse? "I haven't had one on these grounds. Sometimes it's hard." "But I'm sticking toit."
June 22, 2009 - The President signs FDA tobacco regulation bill, during which he twice refers to smoking as a "habit" (not an addiction or chemical dependency).
June 23, 2009 - Video clip in which the President acknowledges falling off the wagon here and there, yet claimsto be 95% cured.
The President should expect news and jokes to continue
